S ECTION 1: T HE B USINESS P ROFILE Description of Our Business We are a space utilization consulting firm. We aim to help universities recognize areas where more efficient use of space can save money and resources, helping the company to grow in the long run. Targeted Market and Customers Our immediate, short-term target market is Clemson University and specifically the Office of Institutional Research. Clemson’s student population decreases from 19,000 to 2,500 during the summer months of May, June, and July. The university’s energy use, however, does not mirror this reduction and significant resources are wasted providing lighting and cooling to largely empty buildings. We provide the organizational and planning resources that will allow Clemson to drastically reduce both the economic and environmental costs associated with this wasted space.
