As fellow Penn State Students, we all understand that there is a crisis going on with our current tuition status and there are different opinions out in the administrative as well as student body about what should be done about the issue. A similar problem occurred at the University of California. Their tuition rates increased to a 32 percent hike in undergraduate fees. Students, who are the main ones affected by the issue decided to protest the conundrum by staging an up rise and occupying the school's administrative building; refusing to leave until their demands were met. The main claim of the student protesters were that the hike in tuition will hurt the working and middle class students who can only afford a state functioned education. The state of California has had an ongoing crisis with their budget. The state once known for its numerous economic opportunities, thriving real estate and strong business climate was staring to experience deficit problems.
