The message of modesty and restraint are the essence of femininity. Contemporary feminist research shows that our culture continues to pressure girls to be chaste, quiet, thin, and giving, denying the desire for sexual please, voice, food, and self interest What does Simmons mean by “hidden cirriculum”? Simmons means that by “hidden curriculum” it teach girls to value silence and compliance, to view those qualities as a virtue. What does “all that” symbolize to these girls? More importantly, what is the social function of that phrase ? How does it work to solidify and exclude members from social groups (cliques)? “All that” girl loosely symbolizes a girl that is all about herself and full of herself,
