How Truman Administration fights Cold War 1. Policy of Containment, 1947: Idea to stop spread of Soviet power in the world.  Developed by George Kennan policy to draw the line around Soviet power, and not let them spread influence  any further 2. Marshall Plan/Economic Aid to West Europe give resources and help to West Europe fear of letting West Europe governments get weak  don’t want them turning to  USSR for support  a takeover by USSR help countries establish banking system 3. Truman Doctrine proclaims that US will give aid to any country that resists Communist influence specific aid given to Greece and Turkey 4. NATO creating military alliance between nations that aren’t communist if any one of them is attacked, all of them is attacked if USSR attacks, all NATO nations will come to the aid of the attacked country 5. National Security Act (1947) created Dept of Defense and CIA+NSC-68 to
