Globalization can be an opportunity for workers and businesses in many ways. First, globalization creates new jobs in the country producing the product or service to be exported. In less developed countries this typically means providing manufacturing or other low skilled jobs to those that otherwise would have no employment opportunities. In a more developed country like the US the benefit is to the exporter as highly skilled jobs are created that provide the service to the consuming country. Globalization can be an opportunity for both the importer and exporter. Another benefit is that as jobs are created in both countries other jobs are created based on the consumption of products and services by those employed in the new job. While there are many benefits to globalization there are also some problems that can be encountered. In cases where work is being created in a less developed country the government of those countries may not provide labor or regulatory laws like the US. This means the workers
