Information Systems Introduction Tesco is currently the largest supermarket chain in the United Kingdom, and it got that way in part through the effective use of its information technology to support the company’s business processes. This paper provides a description of the information systems in place at Tesco, including their strengths and weaknesses, followed by an analysis concerning how these systems can be improved. A summary of the research and important findings are presented in the conclusion. Review and Discussion With millions of customers in 10 different countries, the information technology specialists at Tesco clearly have their hands full in coordinating the supply chain function for this increasingly internationalized enterprise (Tesco Profile, 2011).
