It is used to evaluate the attractiveness of the industry. The main purpose of the five forces framework is to help develop appropriate strategies in a manner to prepare to face competitors, new entrants and substitutes with the hope of ensuring long-term profits. It also helps identify the key areas where a firm can work to best differentiate itself in its industry to remain competitive and profitable. Henredon Furniture Henredon Furniture is a manufacturer of high-end luxury furniture. It views itself as not a manufacturer of furniture but as a manufacturer of a fashion product and specifically a furniture fashion product. An average dining room set will sale for over $25,000. This price difference places it in a different industry from furniture producers such as Drexel, Broyhill or Knock Down furniture producers. Key Forces and Factors effecting Henredon
