Hanifa Ayunisa English 101A November 02, 2010 Similarities According to “Am I Blue?” and “courage” there are some similarities in these two essays, such as: animals can make choices, express their feeling through their eyes, and communicate to human being by showing their behavior. According to “Am I Blue?”, Blue, the main character, chose not to leave his place. He chose to stay and wait for his owner to come because Blue belonged to a man who lived in another town. Occasionally, one of the children usually a stock teenager, but sometimes a much younger girl or boy, could be seen riding Blue. They would appear in the meadow, climb up on his back, ride furiously for ten or fifteen minutes, then get off, slap Blue on the flanks, and not be seen again for a month or more (Walker 177). Thus, Blue waited in his place to see his owner’s children came and rode him. Blue also chose to be a friend with Brown, first Blue appeared to be afraid of it, but then he chose to know Brown better. Blue had decided to make friends and the two horses ambled or galloped along together (Walker179). Similarly, according to “Courage”, Beauty, chose to help Sultan and Gorter instead of running away. Beauty and Sultan leapt into the dangerous water and swam across to join
