PHY-158 EC3 Manual Addendum V: Procedure Follow the procedure in the manual, but be advised that detailed information about the connections for each step are listed on the data tables. VI: For the Report VI-1: No change from the manual VI-2: Tabulate the data taken in steps V-1 and V-2. Your table should include the DVM reading, the actual voltage (DVM*20) and the natural logarithm of the actual voltage. Plot the data taken in steps V-1 and V-2 on separate plots. You should plot ln|V| vs t. Bear in mind that your recorded voltage is 1/20 the actual measured voltage. Consequently you should multiply all of your recorded voltages by 20. Obtain the time constant,  and the uncertainty , from these plots (and LINEST in Excel) as discussed in the TA presentation. These results will be used in VI-5. VI-3: No change from the manual VI-4: Tabulate the data taken in step V-3. Your table should include the DVM reading, the actual voltage (DVM*20) and the natural logarithm of the actual voltage.
