Stoichiometry:  calculations with chemical formulas and equations 1. Write balanced equation 2. Start with the 2 ingredients you are given 3. Find the limiting reactant. There several ways  to do this. § One way: pick one ingredient and do dimensional analysis  to find out how much of the other ingredient you would  need. Compare with what you have.  4. Dimensional analysis: using the limiting  reactant and the molar ratios from balanced  equation, find what the question asks for. 5. If applicable, from the theoretical yield you got,  calculate percent yield.
