MS PROJECT Prof Uday Data Entry: The main data entry table has columns for Task Name, Duration, Start, Finish, Predecessors, and Resource Names. Except for the first two columns, the rest of the data entry table is hidden on the right by a “time line” for a Gantt Chart. The remaining columns of the data entry table may be viewed by pushing aside the Gantt Chart to the right. This may be accomplished as follows: Place the cursor on the left edge of the Gantt Chart, hold down the left mouse button, drag to the right as far as desired, and then release the left mouse button. Enter the task names in the appropriate column. Notice that an ID # is automatically assigned to each task (see column at the left of the window). MS PROJECT references the tasks by these ID #s. Enter the durations of the tasks. The appropriate time units for the durations must be specified; these may be represented by: m for minutes, h for hours, d for days, w for weeks, and mo for months.
