DISTINCTIVE PROPERTIES: Staphylococci are Gram-positive cocci usually arranged in clusters like a bunch of grapes . This property helps the bacterium escape the potentially lethal effects of immunoglobulin action and also serves as the basis for some serological tests (coagglutination).
