Tabrizi 1 Soulmaz Tabrizi EL104 Professor Whittenburg Fall 2008 The Different Mentalities That My Boyfriend and I Have “Please understand that if I’m not speaking with you tonight, it doesn’t mean that I don’t love you anymore. I’m just tired!” said my boyfriend to me. Then I thought to myself, “How could he not talk to me when he hasn’t seen me all day? Hasn’t he missed me? Why doesn’t he want to sit down and have a nice conversation with me?” I suppose we have different ways of communicating with each other. Some key features in our personalities, communication, and punctuality make my boyfriend, Mehran, and me different from one another. My way of thinking in some cases is not the same as Mehran’s. I’m usually a pessimist. I invariably think of the worst circumstances that may occur; consequently, I get nervous and my reaction in a complicated situation is mainly negative. Mehran, on the other hand, is an optimist. He looks on the bright side of everything. In addition, he is patient in difficult situations. He never gets
