Men and women have always been held to different standards in America. For example, men were to be the providers of the household, while the women took care of the home. This stereotype remains, but with some new factors like the difference in ethnic backgrounds and social status. Overall, it does not matter the gender, race, or social-economic status of someone, society still has the expectation that the men are the “breadwinners” and the women are to take care of the home. In many cultures men and women have certain responsibilities that they must take care of for the household. In China, for instance, they are looking for more male teachers because they have become worried that they are producing a generation of feminine boys (Hernandez).
