Evan Brown Toastmasters 18 October 2010 There’s No Place Like Home There is an old saying that goes: There’s no place like home. Home is a word that we define for ourselves, with multiple interpretations. We all grew up in different cities and neighborhoods. Even if we lived in the same neighborhood, our lives and our homes would be totally different. Our home is our comfort zone. It is what we are used to, its where we grew up and it goes beyond the walls of our house. It is the whole environment that we used to be a part of. For many, that home changes a lot in a lifetime. The move to Miami has been the first step away from that comfort zone, and it has helped me realize how much I really had, and the things I took for granite. This is the case for many people, we don’t quite appreciate something until its gone. But in this example of leaving home, I can revisit it. Therefore my trip back home to Cincinnati this past weekend, was like hoping in a time machine. An hour south and it was like I was back in high school, but not quite.
