He is a republican from Bowling Green Ohio and just got elected to his second term in the 112 th United States Congress. He has been a county commissioner as well as a state congressman. He is currently a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce (Latta 2010). The fifth district is the largest manufacturing district as well as the largest agricultural district in Ohio. Because of the massive demand for energy that these two areas have it is in their best interest to oppose government regulation and taxation on energy production. If these businesses have to pay more for energy then they will be forced to pass those questions on to consumers (Five Minute 2009). During the 2010 elections, Bob Latta received almost 70% of the vote indicating that the constituents of Ohio’s fifth are very much in agreement with his views on US...
