Using the verb TO BE – being verbs am is are was were - followed by the present or the past participle e.g.  I  am  going  to the  park.  ( am  = verb  to be;  going  = pres ent  participle) I was  beaten  by  a  better  player.(was  =verb  to be;  beaten  = past  participle)   Underline the verb to be and the present participle. 1.
