1c I can retell a story using pictures I understand the structure  of a simple story –  beginning, middle, end. I order pictures to help me  talk about what happened  in a story. I use pictures to help me  read new words. 1b I can talk about the main thing that happened in the story I read and understand new  books by myself. I show that I have  understood what I have  read, talking about the  main things that happen or  have happened in a story. I understand the structure  of a simple story –  beginning, middle, end. 1a I can talk about similar things that have happened to me I can choose a book and  explain why. I can talk about stories or  events with some detail. I can talk, with help,  about things that happen  in the books I read. 2c I find and talk about the most important parts of the story I show that I understand  texts by talking about the  plot, setting and  characters. I can talk about the  characters and the types of  stories I have read in more  detail and with less help  from adults.
