Structure of DNA Question 1: The DNA double helix is constructed from two polynucleotide chains , which are oriented antiparalle l to each other. The diagram below shows a short region within one polynucleotide chain. (a) For one deoxyribose sugar, label the carbon atoms from 1' to 5'. (b) Identify and label the 5'-end and the 3'-end of the polynucleotide chain . (c) For each DNA base, label whether it is a purine or a pyrimidine .
