Spring 2011 - MGSC 395 SURVEY OF OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT EXAM 2 STUDY GUIDE 90 POINTS (25% of the Course Grade) IMPORTANT: The exam will consist of three parts: MC Section (about 30% of the Exam), Goal essay question(s) (about 20%) of exam and Problems on In-Class Topics (about 50%). Exam will be closed- book and closed-notes . Cheating will result in a zero for the exam. The Multiple-Choice will focus on the following concepts Chapter 6: Planning Long-Term Capacity Capacity Timing and Sizing Strategies Chapter 7 and The Theory of Constraints The Goal Identification and Management of Bottlenecks Managing Constraints in a Line Process Chapter 8: Continuous Improvement Using a Lean Sys Approach Supply Chain Considerations in Lean Systems Process Considerations in Lean Systems Designing Lean System Layouts The Kanban System Value Stream Mapping House of Toyota Operational Benefits and Implementation Issues The Essay Questions will be one or two of the 11 provided previously The Problems section will be based on the topics listed below that can be done by hand (using calculator).
