MAC 1147 Summer B, 2008 Course Content: MAC 1147 is a fast-paced, review of algebra and trigonometry with elements of calculus designed to prepare students for university level courses using mathematics, in particular for the calculus. The course is divided into three units: Unit I College Algebra Unit II Coordinate Geometry and Functions Unit III Trigonometry Textbook : Precalculus by Michael Sullivan (Custom edition for University of Florida ). A Student’s Solution Manual to accompany the text is available but not required . Lectures: Lectures are the main presentation of the material in the course and will closely follow the calendar. Students may print out the lecture notes from the MAC 1147 Web Site: or purchase a hard copy of the lecture notes at Target Copy: 1412 W University Ave. Gainesville, FL 32603 QUIZZES/HOMEWORK: To aid you in regularly evaluating progress, 9 quizzes/homework assignments will be given/collected according to the schedule shown in the calendar. Quizzes will be hand graded according to work shown. Homework will be collected and graded at the discretion of the instructor. No points for early/late
