Calvin Nguyen Business 71 Professor Bohn 6/29/11 TITANIC 1. The duty of care owed by the White Star line to its passengers was to safely take the people aboard the ship to New York. The White Star crew owed a duty of care to take the 1,522 people who unfortunately and unwillingly died on the way to their destination, New York City. Some way and some how The White Star Line owes the loss of Mr. Jenson’s life and the others who froze to death on this luxury boat that submerged into the cold deep sea. The failure of care caused the loss of a lifetime of wages and an excellent carpenter. The excruciating pain and suffering of freezing to death, and not only that but the mental anguish of knowing he and the others would die and that they would never see there loved ones ever again. 2. The White Star line violated the duty of due care by not taking the proper precautions being in control of the Titanic. The Captain, Captain Smith went to bed for the night and left the Second Officer Lightoller in charge. Lightollers stopped his watch at 10:00 and
