Map is a visual representation of an area a symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of that space such as objects, regions, and themes. It is a representation of the surface of the earth, or of some portion of it, showing the relative position of the parts represented; usually on a flat surface. Also, such a representation of the celestial sphere, or of some part of it. Map Legend is a key to all the symbols used on a map. It is like a dictionary so you can understand the meaning of what the map represents. Map Scale is defined as the ratio of a distance on the map to the corresponding distance on the ground. Types of Maps: -Climate Map gives general information about the climate and precipitation (rain and snow) of a region. Cartographers, or mapmakers, use colors to show different climate or precipitation zones. -Resource Maps feature the type of natural resources or economic activity that dominates an area. Cartographers use symbols to show the locations of natural resources or economic activities. For example, oranges on a map of
