Paul O’Malley Transitions 12-8-09 To look into Coca-Cola’s social responsibility record our group wanted to look into the good and bad things that they do for the communities they operate in. We found a really good website called killercoke.org that had a lot of anti-coke propaganda that pertained to the many labor leader deaths in Colombia at coke factories. There was also a very good section of the cocacola.com website that talked about all of the good things that coke does to be socially responsible. We then made all of our slides and met up to put them all into one ridiculously good PowerPoint presentation. The main thing that surprised me about Coke was how many atrocities they have committed in countries like Colombia where they have bottling and manufacturing plants. I always thought Coke was a pretty reputable business and this project really opened my eyes to all of the bad things they have done. I was also pretty surprised at the sum of money that Coke gives out to scholarships and charities around the world that benefit those less fortunate. I knew
