This is a supplemental reader, which will be very useful in addressing contemporary policy concerns and sparking controversy. Arthur MacEwan and John Miller, Economic Collapse, Economic Change: Getting to the Roots of the Crisis . As the title suggests, this book gives a broad perspective of the financial collapse and Great Recession, starting in 2008 and continuing to the present. Charles Morris, The Two Trillion Dollar Meltdown: Easy Money, High Rollers, and the Great Credit Crash. This is an excellent short summary of the financial crisis, by a business reporter who predicted it all beforehand. There are also supplemental readings which we will distribute online, as well as online video interviews and discussions. These should all help you to make sense of the material under consideration—and as such, will help you with the exams as well.
