Maria Vaccaro September 2, 2010 Music Auto-Biography For me, music is passion. When I consider the emotions and responses music elicits in me, I cannot help but compare them to those I would feel if I were in love. Little else in life brings me more joy and satisfaction. However, being in love is not always blissful; at times, pain and heartbreak can mar a relationship or love story. My experience with music is similar; at times I feel frustration and pressure threaten to overtake my love for the art of making music. It is not a simple; it is demanding. Most importantly, however, it, like a genuine love, is well worth the effort. As a child, I was constantly exposed to music mainly through the musical activities of my siblings and father. At the age of six, I began my own adventure with music through piano. I soon became enamored with the instrument and thoroughly enjoyed creating pleasant melodies, however simple, striving always to please my beloved teacher. She taught me to read, understand, and appreciate music, both classical and contemporary. She encouraged me to
