Random Student Locker Searches 2 As a teacher, I have a responsibility to the students to allow random student locker searches. Allowing the locker searches ensure the safety of all the students and staff members of the school. The students have a right to know that at any time throughout the year a locker search(s) will occur. A student has the right to know what is not allowed in the schools and what the punishment will be if these restricted items are brought into the school. I believe a student does have a right to know that private items such as books, notebooks, and phones will not be read or gone through without authorization, the student is present and a good reason is given to go through these items. This is where limiting students’ rights would be my responsibility as their teacher. The rights and responsibilities I will have as a teacher is to ensure an academic level of teaching for my students to learn. I will ensure the protection and safety of all the children in the
