Suggestion from daytime team Eric, thank you for you note, I got similar calculation results with yours. So I’ll just cut to the chase. Possible Solution 1. Batch size Since the Die Change Time and Stamp Time are both longest at machine 1 compared to the other two machines, the sum of processing time of machine 1 is the longest in cutting stage, and the operation time for machine 1 is the cycle time. Set B as batch size. Formula: Capacity=120*B/(5.25+0.05*B) This is the capacity of cutting session. We can use the technology to find a batch size of the maximum capacity and we got similar situation in the session of stitching and lasting. If we combine these situations together then we would find the batch size can bring the maximum capacity for whole system. This would require technology support. Also, since the change of the batch size with effect the capacity in each session, we can also use this to improve the capacity of stitching session (bottleneck).
