Bent at Stanford University in 1960s As of January 2010, it became "SPSS: An IBM Company“ SPSS consists of base system and add-ons (each add-ons is sold separately) SPSS can store data, run statistical analysis, draw graphs/charts (It is aimed specially for statistical analysis, not for complicated data manipulation/transformation like Excel) SPSS communicates through GUI, Syntax, Python, Scripts (we will focus on GUI). SPSS can read data from some other software, e.g. Excel.
