Marketing Issues Since Nordstorm’s (p. 402) competes in the U.S., give an example of each of the marketing environment forces (Political, Legal, and Regulatory; Technological; Social; and Competitive and Economic Forces). Discuss the positive or negative impact of the forces on marketing the department store. Nordstrom has been in business as a shoe retailer since the 1800’s. Though corporate positions within the company have changed, Nordstrom is still a very strong company. Nordstrom started as a shoe store and now, it is a clothing, accessories, jewelry, and cosmetics giant. Today Nordstrom is under the leadership of Blake Nordstrom, whose great grandfather John Nordstrom founded Nordstrom. There are several marketing factors that influence Nordstrom. The marketing factors are: political, legal, and regulatory forces; social forces; competitive and economic forces; and technological forces. In the political, legal, and regulatory forces, Nordstrom has complied with all issues. Legally, Nordstrom has never done anything contrary to the law. Under the social
