Mike Alborn One of the core concepts of working Maintenance at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Geneva is doing Room PMs (preventative maintenance). This is to insure that our guests will have an uninterrupted stay with us and will not have to deal with maintenance issues when they are here. Making sure your Room PMs get done regularly will minimize the issues. You will either be assigned a room by a manager or you can select a room that has not been done recently and is vacant. Grab a Room PM Checklist and inform the front desk what room you will be in so that they may put the room out of order for the night. As you work through the check list, mark each point with either ok or problem. If there is a problem in one part of the room, write out what that problem is. I will walk you through a Room PM in a standard room. Front Door While entering the room, inspect the entrance way to the room. Make note of any scratches to the door frame and door. Check that the door opens alright and swings shut completely. Make sure that the deadbolt engages properly while also looking through the viewer to see if there are any scratches on the glass.
