Mike Alborn Article 1 The first article I chose was Bank Competition And Consumer Search Over Credit Card Interest Rates. The main point of this article is stating what credit card users look for when trying to find a credit card that has a low interest rate. It also looks at the many incentives that banks offer customers to gain their business and the way that the customer interacts with this offer. The article explains that interest rates are based off a number of topics including risk level and banks combine all these factors to figure the final interest rate for their credit card to that customer. Also explained are the differences between the four groups of credit card holders. There are the low risk balance carriers, the low risk non-balance carriers, high risk balance carriers, and high risk non-balance carriers. Banks look at the credit history to place a customer into one of those groups. The article is relevant because of the extensive explanation of the way that banks work to come
