Clarence Li RUID 120006843 Section 03 MVC #5 How would you characterize your parenting style? How have your specific parenting techniques changed since infancy? In what ways do you think your parenting style, or any other aspect of your parenting, has been influenced by your cultural background or other experiences? Among the three typically parenting styles, authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive, I had been trying to use the authoritative style since I heard that this style was the most beneficial for the child. With this in mind, I had been trying to make Bubbles feel more responsible for herself by giving her limited decision-making abilities within close proximity. For example, when Bubbles was able to walk, run, and climb, she used these new motor ability for her exploring adventures under my watch with set rules such as no running in the street and no climbing on the dinner table. Often times, I would allow Bubbles to do what she wanted to do as long as it seemed safe and appropriate. Whenever Bubbles became interested in something, I would often encourage her activities by doing things with her. When Bubbles wanted to fantasy play with her toys, I would join in to pretend with her. When Bubbles started to develop an interest in singing
