After impersonal expressions The subjunctive is used after impersonal expressions that show doubt, emotion, need, or opinion:  Il faut que tu ailles chez le docteur.  (It is necessary that you go to the doctor.)  The expressions below are all followed by  que  and require the subjunctive in the clause that follows:  il est absurde  (it is absurd)  il est amusant
