Chapter 1 Dynamics/components/elements of organizational and human behavior Organizational Behavior -the relationship between two or more people within (and between) organizations -the study of individual behavior and group dynamics Primarily concerned with the psychological, interpersonal, and behavioral dynamics in organizations Human Behavior - the set of relationships between two or more people Dynamics 1.Psychological- science of human behavior 2.Interpersonal- social relationship 3.Behavioral- how one acts Components Of An Organization Task- an organization’s mission, purpose, or goal for existing People- the human resources of the organization Structure- the manner in which an organization’s work is designed at the micro level: how departments, divisions, & the overall organization are designed at the macro level Technology- the tools, knowledge, and/or techniques used to transform inputs and outputs Elements of Organizational Behavior (Chart) Formal -overt Tangible part of the organization, the structure building
