Core Self-Evaluation (CSE) – is a broad set of personality traits that refers to self- concept. Composed of locus of control, self-esteem, generalized self-efficacy, and emotional stability. Self-efficacy / self-monitoring Self Efficacy- beliefs and expectations about ones ability to accomplish a specific task effectively Sources of self-efficacy- prior experiences/success, persuasion, assessment of current physical and emotional capabilities Self-Monitoring- the extent to which people base their behavior on cues from other people and situations High Self Monitors- flexible adjust behavior to the situation and the behavior or others, can appear unpredictable and inconsistent Low Self Monitors- act from internal states rather than from situational cues, show consistency, less likely to respond to work group norms or supervisory feedback Positive Affect vs. Negative Affect (CSE still)
