Student Loan Forgiveness Programs “One of the greatest opportunities for stressed out college graduates is student loan forgiveness or loan repayment programs. These programs offer to eliminate some or all of your student loans in return for choosing certain careers, military service, and even volunteer work. Such programs can eliminate anywhere from a few thousand dollars to over $100,000 of student loans. African Americans and Democracy Democracy is a”a system of government whereby ‘We the People’ elect men and women to serve as proxies of political, economic, and socio-cultural interest.” pg. 11 The term democracy means “rule by the people.” Have Americans operated under a façade of democracy? Pg. 12 “Democracy is a façade because it not only hinders certain groups of people. It also interferes with the primary purposes of government which are to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, and secure the blessing of liberty.”

Who Governs in America? The Pluralist Model of Governance argues that “governmental systems are equal as all people have an equal opportunity to influence political systems through organized groups.” The Elitist Model argues that “government is controlled by a small group of powerful, wealthy, and influential leaders and economic/business stakeholders.” Colonialism argues that “governmental systems are maintained by a dominant group of people [the powerful] who exert power, control, and influence over a subordinate group of people [the powerless].” Coalition models argue that “governmental systems are influenced by the cooperative and strategic alliances of diverse groups which unite around common issues and causes.”

The Unhappy Truth and the Imperfect Constitution “It is simply an unhappy truth that not every problem was meant to be solved by the U.S. Constitution , nor can it be.” (View expressed in 1993).
