TO: Directors of Sales and Operations CC: COO Subject: Packaging process reengineering opportunity The task is to improve the Broadway Café’s current packaging and inspection process. Doing so will cost less; enabling us to transfer our vital resources to higher valued activities. By using WBI, allowing me to simulate these processes and to get quantitative differences among the alternatives, I have simulated five cases. Each represents different process reengineering and modification, followed by hard numbers and detailed analyses. The table below illustrates quantitative results based on the outputs of WBI simulations and modifications: Average Cycle Duration Average Working Duration Average Total Costs Case 1 6.05333 0.23833 2.97917 Case 2 6.03500 0.21167 2.64583 Case 3 10.32667 0.23833 2.97917 Case 4 6.09167 0.25667 3.02500 Case 5 (Recommendation) 6.02533 0.12100 1.46250 Case 1 : The WBI simulation for case 1 is based on our current packaging and inspection process. The average cycle duration, average working duration and average total costs are 6.05333 hours,
