I have desired to become a nurse practitioner ever since I started my nursing career. I began my nursing career as a Licensed vocational nurse (LVN). I worked for four years as an LVN; then, I went back to school for my associate degree in nursing (ADN) to become a Registered Nurse. Immediately I became a Registered Nurse; I felt the urge to go back to school for my Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). The BSN program motivated me to pursue this MSN program. I had thought in my mind that if I can go through these stages of nursing, then I can as well be a Nurse Practitioner (NP). I have dedicated my whole life in caring for people with mental illness. My nursing practice started when I was caring for my cousin, who suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar with the explosive disorder. I was always staying at home with him to redirect and keep him safe. I know how hard it is to care for people with mental illness. My passion for nursing also stems from the care I gave to my grandfather, who had Alzheimer's disease.
