Estopace OUTLINE: Our Picture of the Universe by Stephen Hawking 2011-11548 Thesis Statement: The partial theories that have been made in the past should be unified into one ultimate theory that will aid the crave of man to understand the universe and our purpose. I. Aristotle believes that Earth was a round sphere rather than Hat plate. A. He realized that the eclipses of the moon were caused by the Earth coming between the sin and the moon. B. The Greeks knew from their travels that the North Star appeared lower in the sky when viewed in the south than it did in more northerly regions. II. Contradicting ideas of philosophers or scientists regarding the model of the Universe. A. Other philosophers believed that the center of the Universe was Earth. 1.
