MCB 120L KEY Experiment 6 Spring 2011 1 Experiment 8C 1. 2. Macaque LDH L isomer: tr|Q4R816|Q4R816_MACFA Organism: Macaca fascicularis (Crab-eating macaque) (Cynomolgus monkey) Taxonomic lineage: Eukaryota › Metazoa › Chordata › Craniata › Vertebrata › Euteleostomi › Mammalia › Eutheria › Euarchontoglires › Primates › Haplorrhini › Catarrhini › Cercopithecidae › Cercopithecinae › Macaca The most homologous protein sequence to the intronless human LDH-C protein sequence (derived from the LDHAL6B gene) is not another human LDH protein sequence; the most homologous protein sequence is from another primate, a macaque. This suggests that the two sequences (human LDH-C and macaque LDH-C) are orthologs. The alignment of these protein sequences does not give any evidence for why the human gene does not contain introns. DNA Quantities 1. A260/A280 = values varied depending upon each student’s preparation, below is just one set of sample values: a) PCR DNA 10mm path-length (= 1 cm) A260 = 0.81 A280 = 0.54 Abs 260nm = 0.81 = (0.020 (μg/ml)

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
