Macaque LDH L isomer: tr|Q4R816|Q4R816_MACFA Organism: Macaca fascicularis (Crab-eating macaque) (Cynomolgus monkey) Taxonomic lineage: Eukaryota › Metazoa › Chordata › Craniata › Vertebrata › Euteleostomi › Mammalia › Eutheria › Euarchontoglires › Primates › Haplorrhini › Catarrhini › Cercopithecidae › Cercopithecinae › Macaca The most homologous protein sequence to the intronless human LDH-C protein sequence (derived from the LDHAL6B gene) is not another human LDH protein sequence; the most homologous protein sequence is from another primate, a macaque. This suggests that the two sequences (human LDH-C and macaque LDH-C) are orthologs. The alignment of these protein sequences does not give any evidence for why the human gene does not contain introns. DNA Quantities 1.
