1) Power up your oscilloscope by pressing the power button. This may take up to 30 seconds to be fully on. 2) Turn on one of the channels by pushing either the channel 1 or channel 2 button in the vertical section. 3) Establish a baseline by pressing the channel number in which you selected, then push the coupling key. Continue pushing the coupling key until GND is selected. Next adjust the position of the beam by turning the knob in the vertical section until it is in the middle of the crosshairs. Finally, select AC coupling under the coupling softkey. 4) Set the triggering by pressing the mode/coupling key in the trigger section. Then press the mode soft key and select the auto position. 5) Make sure that you have a 10:1 probe. This means the probe’s input impedance reduces the input voltage by a factor of 10.
