Biological Pollution: Native and Invasive speciesObjective and Purpose:The objective of this laboratory is to identify common native and non-native Florida species located at FIU preserve. Also, the purpose of the lab is to determine the habitat that is associated, if it is invasive and a physical description of different species. Analysis:In the FIU preserve, I saw different native species and invasive species. The majority of them were invasive species since they have the ability to survive and compete with the native species.There are two kinds of habitats in the FIU preserve, the Tropical Hardwood Hammock, and the Pine Rockland. At the Tropical Hardwood Hammock part of the FIU preserve, I saw the Wild Coffee, Fire Bush, Gumbo Limbo and the West Indies Mahogany that are native species of that ecosystem. The Pine Rockland had more native species like pines tree, royal palms, cabbage palms and the saw palm. Invasive species were in both ecosystems like the oyster plant, castor
