Actor o is doing an action o is alive, not an image in a screen o you can reach out and touch him or her 2. Audience o absolutely necessary unlike visual arts o active participant, experiencing emotion 3. Space o act has to happen somewhere Acts of Theater: 1. sporting events 2. church 3. concerts Fake flowers are similar to movies: - mass produced - always the same - cheaper Real flowers are similar to theater - expensive - each show is different The Look of Storytelling % Means by which stories are told % Movies
