Why is understanding the health care system at the local level important to consider when planning an EBP implementation? Conduct research and solicit anecdotal evidence from your course preceptor that you will take into consideration for your own change project. When planning an evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation at the local level, one must have a good understanding of how its healthcare system functions. The implementation of EBP requires various resources from the local level. These resources include human capital and adequate funding. During implementation of EBP, skilled human resources are essential to provide leadership and the necessary competence; the presence of adequate medical personnel such as nurses, physicians and other professionals are necessary for successful implementation of EBP at the local level. The organizational structure of the healthcare system at the local level plays a critical role in promoting the implementation of EBP successfully (Bonham, Sommerfeld, Willging, & Aarons, 2014).
