1 Spring 2011 Jacobean Shakespeare: Guidelines for the March 1 Midterm Exam Preparing for the Exam: Here are three basic ways to do well on exams: 1) Read assigned reading before coming to lecture (EVEN those you’ve read before) 2) Come to lecture with your book. 3) Read along during discussion and mark your books! Exam Review : The March 1 midterm exam questionnaire will consist of two parts —the second part (passage identification) will be significantly longer than the first. Part 1: Short answers (worth 2 points apiece). Guidelines for Part 1 questions: In your blue book, please define the following terms, and indicate where in the passages that follow (in Part 2) they occur. EXAMPLE: “Simile is when . ..., and an example of Simile occurs in Part 2, Number ____” Part 2 : Passage Identification (7-8 points each, of which 4 points will be for significance) Guidelines for Part 2: IDs : Spend about 4 minutes on each of these passages.
