Four main production areas of California Broccoli: 1. Southern Desert Valleys (Imperial and Riverside Counties) 2. The southern coast (Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties) This first map shows the 1997 production (the darker the green, the more broccoli produced). The second map shows broccoli production in more recent years (2007). Some notable changes show less broccoli produced in Imperial County and more in Monterey, Santa Barbara, and San Diego. The grey areas in both maps mean no broccoli was produced. Refer to the map of California counties for more readable county names. 3. The central coast (Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties)
