27. Bright interference fringes occur at angles θ given by d sin θ = ,where m is an integer. For the slits of this problem, d =11 a/ 2, so a sin θ =2 mλ/ 11 (see Sample Problem 37-4). The ±rst minimum of the di²raction pattern occurs at the angle θ 1 given by a sin θ 1 = λ , and the second occurs at the angle θ 2 given by a sin θ 2 =2 λ
