16. (a) Since E ph = h/λ = 1240 eV · nm / 680 nm = 1 . 82 eV < Φ=2 . 28 eV, there is no photoelectric emission. The result of problem 3 is used in our calculation. (b) The cutoF wavelength is the longest wavelength of photons which will cause photoelectric emission.
