18. (a) For λ = 565 nm hf = hc λ = 1240 eV · nm 565 nm =2 . 20 eV . Since Φ potassium >hf> Φ cesium , the photoelectric efect can occur in cesium but not in potassium at this wavelength. The result o± problem 3 is used in our calculation.
